If you download Soundabout from the app store, it will allow you to choose audio output and negate the Hudly speaker.

When you're wanting to cast your phone screen to your Hudly Wireless but want your audio to play through your car via bluetooth, a simple protocol will allow you to do so and override Apple's default system which tries to cast both sound and visuals to the same place.
Step 1) Connect to your Hudly Wireless as normal
Step 2) Open the Bluetooth menu on your phone (Settings > Bluetooth)
Step 3) Connect to your vehicle's Bluetooth audio
And now your audio should be bifocated between your vehicle and Hudly!

There was one thing that always worked for me though. This will only work on stereos with bluetooth. The usual thing that people does when they get into the car is turn it on and then the accessories such as the hudly and stereo will power on as well and then your phone’s bluetooth will connect automatically to the stereo because it has paired with it before. That means that it will most likely connect before you even mirror your phone to the hudly device. As we know though, what happens when you mirror your phone screen on IOS is that it redirects the audio to the hudly device without being able to change it back to the stereo without losing the screen mirroring. What I do and is always working when I do it is that I turn my bluetooth off and then mirror my phone to hudly. When this is all done and I can see my screen on the hudly HUD, I turn back my bluetooth on which will then try to connect automatically to the previous accessories it has connected with, including the stereo. This will redirect the sound back to my stereo without disconnecting the screen mirror in hudly.
This has worked 100% of the time in my car.

There doesn’t appear to be any such app, at least in the App Store.
It is not working for me.
I did that and when I switch to the car Bluetooth, the casting is canceled (airplay mirroring)
I have iPhone X, iOS 11.3.1
please help how to redirect the sound to the car audio instead of the Hudly speaker.
Switching off Bluetooth and then connecting to Hudly, before routing audio via Bluetooth as a separate step does work, though.
Similar to Sheila I have also been doing this but when using spotify I occasionally have to switch audio to iphone and then back to bluetooth
I am having no luck on this. I am on iOS 11.4 and I can’t split the audio to my Bluetooth player in the car. I tried all the combination mention in the previous post. I turn off my Bluetooth walking to my car to prevent it from connecting and connect to my Hudly first. Once I turn on my Bluetooth and try to stream audio there, it shuts off my Hudly cast and my audio works again............please help.
Kam,
I've also been unable to use it with 11.4 and 12.0 developer preview. I believe that the release of airplay 2 that come with 11.4 broke the ability to bifocate the audio because that's a functionality built into airplay 2 (aka multi room audio) for supported devices
Hi,
Just got my Hudly wireless also bought the Hudly ODBII dongle. Managed to get torque to work with the dongle but have been unable to get the Hudly app (Android) to connect to the ODBII dongle. Could not see anywhere in the setting to choose the dongle for the App.
Anyone got this to work yet?
What needs to be done to get it to work?
So I guessing at this point, any iOS users with 11.4 and higher would not have the ability to split the audio into their bluetooth device. I can't find any iPhone app that would allow you to do this either..........that really sucks.
Although it is iPhone iOS 11.4.1, car audio and HUD can not be used at the same time.
Please disclose how to deal with it.
If you can not do it, you should be cautioned as a restriction.
I would not have looked at the carodio when it was exclusive.
iPhone 6S - iOS 12.0.1 can’t bifocate de áudio, this is ridiculous!!!
Any update on the bifocate issue?
Otherwise i have to return the hudly. I want to be able to use my car stereo and hudly simultaneously.
Apperently there was a work arround but none of the above works for my iphone xs.
