Certain cars have a less-than-desirable dashboard material that makes the mounting less than 100% firm for the Hudly Wireless.
For the rare users who have had this issue, we've been compiling what they have to say about how they've fixed the issue to share with the rest of the community.
Option 1:
Dunking the Hudly Mount into hot water, use gloves to mold the edges of the base so that they're able to stay curved in slightly. This has helped primarily with Mercedes and BMW dashboards that have the slicker materials.
Option 2:
Using 3m tape, place a small amount along the bottom of the base of the mount and stick it to your dashboard. You won't have to worry about residue or damaging the dashboard and it will help with the adhesion. The only con to this method is that it makes it less easy to move around, requiring multiple mounts.
Option 3:
Use pieces of Scotch-brand "Extreme Fastener" to attach the Hudly unit directly to the dashboard. This seems to work well and actually puts the display in an ideal positioning.
Option 4:
Use a couple of zip ties to pull the base into a concave shape. Then use a hairdryer to heat the plastic. Leave it overnight with the zip ties on. You should be able to achieve 90%+ surface adherence as opposed to the lower amount previously for your unique dash.
