From time to time, new phone operating systems require us to update our firmware in order to retain a smooth and enjoyable experience when casting your phone to the Hudly Wireless. Over-the-air updates are also a great way for us to continue improving your Hudly Wireless after you've received it, improving day-to-day usability and keeping your device running tip-top.
How to update your Hudly Wireless
Step 1: Make sure that your Hudly Wireless is close enough to connect to your home's WiFi network. This is important as it will pull the update from your home's WiFi
Step 2: Your Hudly will show your ID# "HUDLY - xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" and your current version number.
Step 3: Open your smartphone's WiFi settings page, find the Hudly Dongle, and connect to it using code 12345678
Step 4: Open your smart-phone internet browser and key in http://(192.168.49.1)
Step 5: Once completed, select 'scan' to search for your home, office, or another open WiFi source that receives data connection.
Step 6: Enter in the password for the WiFi network that you've selected (if applicable) and then click 'connect' below that.
Step 7: Once connected, you'll notice that the screen on your Hudly will alert you to this connection, the existence of new updates, and prepare you to update.
Step 8: On the dongle that you'll find beneath the Hudly Wireless, press and hold the white button found on the side of the dongle for 2-3 seconds
Step 9: You will now see the progress of the update. Please allow 5-10 minutes for completion. It may reboot multiple times during the update. Once done, it will boot up as normal with your new version # displayed and you can now use your updated Hudly Wireless.
Step 10 (optional): Press and hold the white button on the side of the Hudly Dongle on the bottom of the Hudly Wireless for 6-8 seconds to reset the device once more, just to make sure that the update has been implemented properly
