Agreed, I have followed these steps and nothing happens.  I have 7.7.7.7 also.

I just upgraded to 7.8.7. can you provide a change log of what's new?

    Mine updated to 7.9.7.
It now allows my Pixel phone to cast to the Hudly Wireless only if the Hudly Wireless is connected to my home WiFi. However, it is useless when it is not connected to the home WiFi, which is the case when I'm driving away from my house. Please fix this soon for the Pixel phone users.

    for Peter Hoang

You'll excuse me from the side.

It is probably because the connection setting to the home wifi keeps remaining.

The setting will be erased in step 10.

It is also possible to delete connection settings on the scan screen.

Moreover, I think that it will shift to the conventional ap mode if left unattended.

I did delete the home WiFi. It did went back to the conventional mode. Then I reconnect my phone to the Hudly Wireless WiFi. Afterward, I am still not able to cast.

    Hi,
I've launched my first upgrade attempt a few hours ago.
    From 7.7.7 to 7.9.7...
Got to step 9 and my Hudly has been looping thru flashing screens of different colors as well as some B&W scale screen for the last hours... No message beyond colors...
I tried pressing on the dongle button : short press or long press change nothing.
Next move is to unplug the thing... I just hope it won't brick...

I pressed the power button (the one on the Hudly).
It stopped and it started nicely, showing 7.9.7 version.
    I completed step 10.
It started nicely, I connected to its wifi AP. I casted to it from my Oneplus 3, as usual.
I showed all the usual steps up to 'Ready to display' and then, I can hear some click, and it keeps on looping thru 'color' screens until I press the power button...
Is there a way to restore the previous version, if it is related to the new version ?
Be it thru the micro USB port with CLI ?

After a night's rest, my Hudly works like a charm...
I believe that the issues above are related to the use of a battery charger as 12V power supply for the Hudly during the upgrade process (not convenient for me to connect to my home Wifi from the car).
I guess that the power supply was not powerful enough for the Hudly to run...

Is 7.9.7 still the latest firmware? When will we see a new update? I still have the issue of the image going off the screen if I choose 2 items to display using the hudley app.
